gospel of a failure

gospel of a failure

“God’s grace does not come to people who morally outperform others, but to those who admit their failure to perform and who acknowledge their need for a Savior.” – Tim Keller

We spend a lot of time in our lives striving.  Competing. Performing.  And ultimately, doing our best to win.

And there is nothing wrong with any of that.

But when it comes to receiving the grace of God, the only thing that makes us a winner, is failure.

It’s not about earning or deserving but being humble and receiving.

It’s in our failure that we need a Savior.

So when you make a mistake. When you fall down.  When you’re ready to give up.

Know that you’re in a good place.

So long as you’re reaching a hand towards heaven.
