gospel of accomplishment
‘Once I finish that, I’ll be able to breathe’. ‘I’ll have some more time.’ ‘I’ll have more space.’
While that may be true, I don’t think it’s what we’re actually looking for.
Accomplishing something doesn’t bring us to completion but rather, it leads us to the next task. The next task is likely greater than the previous one. And with that comes a greater challenge. As Ryan Holiday states, “You’re always fighting uphill.”
Take your breath. Take your time. Enjoy your moment. And then get ready to take what you’ve learned and accomplished to the next level.
As Jesus says, “To whom much is given, much is required. And to the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.”
Enjoy your accomplishment. Relish it. But just for a moment. Because there’s a greater one ahead.
As Holiday goes on to state, “Passing one obstacle simply says you’re worthy of more.”
